Hello! My shih tzu is 8yo and uncastrated, and my family and I have been having some issues with some of his behaviors.
When he first started developing sexually, he got into the habit of humping legs. My mother and I obviously discouraged it, but we lived with other family at the time, and my uncle found it the funniest thing in the world to let the dog hump his leg and never listened to my mother when she said not to let him, so he never ended up breaking the habit. Recently, me, my mother and stepfather moved out, and now that my uncle is no longer around to be a sort of "release" for the dog, which honestly never should have happened in the first place, he is now distressingly horny. Any leg extended over 90° is a target for him, and no punishment discourages him.
Another thing is his habit of peeing inside the house. We take him for regular walks, but sometimes we take him, walk around until all he's peeing is little drops, and he'll walk in the apartment and immediately pee in a corner. I'm not sure if it's stress, since we moved a few months ago, or if it's a territorial thing. We do scold him while showing him the pee and put him in time out, but when we let him out he immediately goes and pees in the same spot. He also does it when we scold him for something unrelated. For example, I scolded him for trying to hump my leg and he quietly went to my room and peed in there. I'm not sure if he does it out of spite or something, but my family and I are truly at a loss.
