Cat is kinda obsessed with laser pointer/light reflections?

For context, my cat is just over 2 years old, we adopted her back in February just before the pandemic. We’ve tried quite a few toys with her, feather toys, scratching posts/boards, little stuffed mice, all the generic stuff, but all of it fails to keep her attention for very long before she’s bored of it and the toys just sit on the floor getting no use until we get down on the floor to try and play with her with them, but even then she doesn’t stay interested very long and there’s only a couple she’ll actually wanna play with. Of course the thing she seems to love the most and never gets tired of is the laser pointer, but unfortunately I think it’s been causing an obsession and is starting to bleed over into things like light reflections as a car passes by our window. During the day she’s pretty unbothered by the lights, but early in the morning or at night when we’re trying to sleep and she sees one she’ll stare at the area she saw it in and start meowing or pawing the wall, I have to leave the TV on at night now to let some light into the room so she doesn’t see the reflections as easily (we already have blackout curtains to attempt to block the reflections but they aren’t quite long enough so don’t cover light coming in from the top or bottom too well) and it’s really starting to impact my sleep. It’s gotten to the point where she knows where to expect the reflections to show up so she’ll sit in those areas and paw them or meow even if there’s nothing there yet. I’d like to stop using the laser pointer with her to see if she’ll stop obsessing over lights as much but the problem is I just don’t know what a good alternative is to play with her, I want her to get the engagement and play and exercise she deserves everyday but it’s hard to do that when she seems hardly interested in the toys we try to engage her with. Is there anything specific that could be recommended that might suit the style of play of chasing a laser pointer? We’ve also thought about getting another kitty to get her a playmate so she’s not as bored but I don’t think we’re quite ready to take that leap just yet. Any advice is appreciated!
