We have an asthmatic cat who caught some sort of “cat cold”: sneezing, nose and eye discharge, labored breathing (more than usual). Three vet visits later and a shot of long acting antibiotics to rule out bacterial nature, we are done to “just let her ride it out” since nothing helped her symptoms. We’re told it’s likely viral and there is no treatment but let it run it’s course while monitoring. We got a humidifier, we take her into steamy bathrooms, nothing helps. The vet we go to is highly respected but I can’t help but feel like she’s not getting enough help. I haven’t experienced this with any other cats I’ve ever owned. Anyone had a cat cold last for over a month with wheezing, discharge and odor? Digging around all I find are crappy prognoses like developing pneumonia and such. Ugh...
