Okay so start this off last thanksgiving. I spent the day with my girlfriend going to one house party to the next and eventually ending it at my aunts apartment. Because the both of us are crazy for cats we decided to go outside and check out all of the kittens my aunt was just feeding and allowing them to chill out in front, we soon found a small kitten that we both feel in love with. (I think the cat might’ve been maybe 5 weeks old) it took a lot of convincing for my mom to allow us to keep it but she eventually gave in, I didn’t really see much of a challenge. teach it to eat / drink we’re my main priority considering his age and size. (I also want to mention that i already owned a cat who only uses the bathroom outside.) i never thought training my new cat to use the bathroom would be such a pain. I eventually gave up on trying to pick up his pee and all i had to combat the smell was a can of Febreze. it was up until maybe last week on tuesday 12/15 that the smell had become unbearable, he had finally gotten a huge puddle secretly going behind this vacuum in the corner tried my best to get rid of it and that’s when i realized that the smell of cat piss isn’t no easy clean up job. around this time i would PERIODICALLY OPEN MY WINDOWS ALMOST ALMOST DAY to let out the air, I also had ((Reopened up a vent that had a history of giving me lung problems along with a cold and other symptoms)) and the final part which is why i am here was, on saturday my mom had mopped up the floor using ((bleach to get rid of the cat piss)) no cat piss was left in puddles when it was being mopped. it was essentially just the glossyness from the floor. after that day i would end up using disinfecting wipes for the cat piss that claims it’s (bleach free) and flushing out each smell with perfume my mom gave me after i had ran out of febreze. Now my lungs are starting to feel “cold” and i felt my eyes sorta burn at times when they weren’t even red (that passes) and i don’t remember if i was starting to show weird symptoms before or after the mopping (it might have been before...?) but here are all of the reason why i think i’m feeling this way
• Cat piss (the smell is doing something nasty to my lungs) • reopened vent (I already stated that cold being blown into my face has left me sick before.) I also left out that i had a desk fan blowing into my face all last week too. (premopping) • the usage of bleach on cat urine. (ammonia from cat piss and the bleach from the cleaning product. I honestly don’t know why I didn’t even research this when looking how to get rid of the smell) I also want to • Ive been sure to use a simple cloth mask when it becomes to annoying to breathe and i had my windows open in the morning 2 times after the mopping.
TLDR: ITS BEEN A NOT EVEN A WEEK SINCE MY ROOM HAS BEEN MOPPED WITH BLEACH TO CLEAN UP CAT URINE AND MY LUNGS ARE STARTING TO HURT, PLEASE READ EVERYTHING THAT I LISTED ABOVE BECAUSE IT GOES INTO DETAL ABOUT WHAT ELSE MIGHT REALLY BE HAPPENING.
