experienced with owning 1 cat. how is owning 2 different?

I've previously had a cat that was very happy as an only cat. Am now thinking of getting a pair (not yet bonded, but both friendly).

Any advice for an experienced owner of 1 cat, but new to owning multiple? The few things I do know:

  • Keep them in separate spaces at the beginning
  • 1.5 litterboxes per cat (so at least 3)
  • ....? Haha, I don't actually know anything else! Hit me with your advice.

Also what's probably a silly question. One cat I'm getting is quite a big boy (15lb), the other is a tiny girl (7lb). Is this something that's at all relevant to the cats' interactions, or are cats pretty indifferent to the size/appearance of the other?
