I want a cat cause I'm a cat person but my family owns 4 dogs

I'm asking on advice on how to show my parents that I'm responsible enough for a cat (I'm scared of dogs) I've always been a cat person but these past few months I've been wanting a cat :( I've tried Google but it just says "how do I get a dog when I have 1 other dog" and idk what to do soooooo: any advice on convincing my parents to get a cat??? (I'm 13) comment if this isn't right with r/pets
