My boyfriend and I moved in together about 5-6 months ago. I have a 1-year-old spayed female and he has an 8-year-old neutered male (they've met each other in the past so they already knew each other and got along). They seem to get along great still, they play together constantly, cuddle, and groom each other. However, my bf's cat is having quite a few behavioral issues:
-He has started drinking out of the kitchen sink and from cups, and when I try to show him where his water bowl is he refuses to drink out of it and will just jump back up on the counter. It's now to the point where we can't leave a single cup in the sink or out in general because he'll drink right out of it.
-He's a very affectionate cat, he loves being held and cuddled by us, but he gets pushy about it and will bite ankles (hard) if he isn't getting attention and when he does get pets after awhile he bites our hands hard. If I give him a few pats and then walk away from him he will also follow me and bite my ankles for more attention. In the past, he would nibble our noses if he gave us head boops too much and got overstimulated, but the biting has gotten worse.
-He has also been "mounting" my female cat. He gets on top of her like they're mating and will bite the nape of her neck really hard to the point where she'll cry. She tries to swat at him and bite back but he's twice her size so I have to pick him up and move him away from her. I don't know why he's doing this because they're both fixed and they get along great?
We love him a ton and just want to figure out what's going on with him. If anyone can give insight about the issue here or advice on how to correct his behaviors I would really appreciate it!
