Hey everyone, I have a 1.5 year old male orange tabby that I’ve had for about a year now and I just adopted another kitten who’s about 10 weeks. They play fight and everything and sometimes get a little out of hand where the little one screeches and I separate them for a bit while I slowly introduce them, but I’ve noticed my older one is starting to fake cover his food by pawing around the bowl before he walks away. They each have separate food and water bowls in separate rooms and each have their own littler boxes with one extra for now until the little guy gets used to everything. I’ve done some reading and haven’t found anything specific to introducing a new kitten and how it’s instinct for them to do it sometimes and I just assume it’s because there’s another cat in the house and he isn’t solo anymore. I guess I just want to know if it’s normal behavior and if there’s anything else I’d be able to do to make it easier for him if it’s a sign of jealousy or competition etc. Thanks!
