I have a 13 year old male Maltese. I’ve had him all his life. I moved out of my parents with my dog about 5 years ago. He loves them. He has severe separation anxiety and they are the only ones who he’s totally comfortable staying with.
I just got kicked out of my landlord/ roommates apartment because his girlfriend of one month has moved in. I’ve lived here for almost 3 years. It’s a real shit show because I thought we had a bit more respect for each other but whatever, that’s worth a whole different post.
I might have to go live with my boyfriend and his roommates temporarily (Egh), but just until I can find another place to live.
My parents live 8 hours away and have offered, and asked many many times if they can look after my dog. It’s the responsible thing to do in this transition I’m going through, but I’m going to miss him so dang much! He’s my best buddy, we go on walks daily and hikes at least 3 times a week. He bounces out of bed every morning and makes me smile (for the most part, lol). I’m worried his health could decline while he’s away... and the simple things, like my parents finding him a groomer, and feeding him the proper amount... etc. I know he’s over all in good care but I’m still really sad.
This is the right thing to do though right? It’s too hard to find temporary accommodations as it is, let alone with my dog.
