Cat smells like car tires

Hi,

So I have a bit of an odd question, and I wanted to see if anyone here might have advice as to what to do in this situation. A couple nights ago, I noticed an odd rubber-y scent coming from my cat. I wasn't sure what it was but I wasn't concerned, so I ignored it. Tonight, my cat came up to me and I noticed she smelled like rubber again, but stronger. My dad identified it as the smell of car tires. I'm concerned that she might be rubbing up against the bottom of the car or against the tires themselves. My hands also smell like tires after touching her. It's a very strong scent that only went away when I washed my hands. I may just bathe her, but I'm concerned about this becoming a pattern. I feel like its not just a smell, and she may have picked something up on her fur from rubbing on the car. Again, I know this is an odd situation, but she's a senior cat (10) and I'm concerned. I'm really just looking for advice/trying to see if anyone has experienced something similar and what ended up happening. Thanks.
