Hello! I have a very sweet Lhasa bichon who’s about 6 years old. He is cuddly and loving but sometimes at night he gets very aggressive. He may be laying on the couch by my feet and if I move my foot even slightly he attacks them. I pull my feet away and he keeps going at them until he gets off the couch usually because I’m Yelling for him to get down because he won’t stop attacking my feet.
Sometimes he growls if I pet him. So I stop but One night I forgot he gets like this and I tried to kiss him (like I do during the Day allll the time!) and he bit my face and I needed stitches.
The vet suggested making sure he gets enough exercise so I give him the suggested amount of time for walks, he is fed and has water. Sometimes it happens if we are up too late. Like he gets “grumpy.”
There’s no apparent pain. He’s been to the vet for a checkup for something else and I mentioned the behavior too and they didn’t note anything about that.
I’m not sure what to do. I don’t want him to bite anyone else and he is not like this every night. He’s such a sweetie usually. Loves cuddling and getting kissed and pet!
