So I was having issues with my young cat scratching at my chair in my bedroom at night. I can’t close my door or he will sob outside of it, so I decided to look into how to deter cats from scratching furniture, and saw that spraying certain essential oils mixed with water will keep him away from my chair. I used a mixture of cinnamon, eucalyptus, and peppermint (a ton of each), drenched my chair, and am now in bed. However, upon further research, noticed that these three essential oils are extremely harmful to both cats and dogs (I have a cat and two dogs in my bed right now). I don’t want to hurt them, so I need to know if the scent alone can cause damage to my animals. They can’t really escape the scent so it’s too late for me to resolve the issue now but I’d love some piece of mind if possible. Thanks!
