My girlfriend got a puppy a year ago and got her potty pads. But she never weaned her off of them or trained her to go outside, so there's constantly dog poop in the house that will be there for days.
I've never been comfortable with dogs, and I'm really uncomfortable with dog poop, not even picking it up with a bag, but now picking it up is a daily chore unless I want it to become part of the living room's decor.
This has been driving me crazy and making me extremely depressed and anxious, but is this normal? Do a lot of people just let their adult dogs use a pad instead of going outside? I thought all dog owners trained them to go for walks.
I want to confront her again on this, but I don't want to seem unreasonable. Should I approach this as if it's one of my quirks that I can't stand dog shit in the living area, should I approach the issue more directly, or should I just learn to deal with it and leave it alone?
