We have a 3 year old Shih Tzu and a 1 year old weenie dog that have always been best friends. We recently noticed a large ball on our shih tzu’s mouth and took him to the vet and had surgery to get it removed today. Now he has a big hole where they cut it out and he is okay. We expected him to be tired and not want to be bothered, but goes crazy when the other dog goes near him, and they start fighting. I understand if he won’t even give a warning. They fight as soon as they’re in the same room and it’s totally out of character for the both of them. I’m not sure what to do while he’s healing. At the moment we keep him in kid kennel that’s been moved to the living room so he can watch tv with us and while the other one is outside, we let him out to play but they usually sleep in the kennel together.
