My cat has a large litter box in my bathroom with plenty of space to move around in. However, every time he poops, he first pees in the litter box and then walks out into the middle of the bathroom floor and poops on the floor. He won’t poop in the litter box anymore, but he will pee in it. I am still living in my parents house before I move out in 4 months and I am taking my cat with me. He has been treated for hyperthyroidism and is healthy and stable. There is one other cat in the house, and they share this one litter box. My parents refuse to have another litter box anywhere else in the house. I don’t know what is causing this behavior or how to stop it. His defecation on the floor is a cause of tension in my house between my mother and I. Any ideas on how to stop this??? TIA
