Hey, so recently my cat went for a walk (as normally does) and returned a bit limping with his front right paw curled up. When we looked at it, it seemes like there was a simple wound on the paw and that's it. We disinfected it with a bit of alcohol and that's it, thought nothing of it.
~5-7 days passed, nothing really changed - there's still that small wound onn the same place and he's limping the same way. It was kinda-of weird as you'd expect a sma wound to heal pretty fast, but we thought that maybe he was stepping on it at times, getting the wound open again which slowed healing.
Today, (another 2 days) he was licking himself clean on the couch and all of a sudden we hear a painful meow. It seems like somehow, while licking himself, he made another wound (or its just a wound we were unaware of) and its bleeding a lot. The wound is on the back of his paw, pretty much on the other side of the paw to the first one. Maybe its a coincidence, who knows.
But yeah, before I take him to the vet (they are closed down rn due to some holidays or whatever but will reopen soon) any ideas what this might be? Its almost like he wounded himself by licking, but that's seems weird. Rn we bandaged him and try not to let him outside, waiting to make sure the blood stopped n he's better.
