So I have already adopted a stray puppy. I live in India where breeding practices are poor and unreliable at best. I am starting to realise that pets are seen as some sort of status symbol and I get a lot of unsolicited opinions how she’s a stray and if I want a dog I should get a good one. It is starting to really piss me off and I also wonder if I did something wrong. How do I best responding to comments like these. So far I have tried to politely explain how I just fell in love with this puppy, that I think it’s better than buying given the poor breeding practices, even “now I already have her where do I drop her (as a sarcastic joke)”
TLDR: pets seem as status symbols in India. People keep commenting how I should have gotten a “good” dog instead of a stray, how do I respond?
