So I got my first ever dog a few months ago. I got a whippet/lurcher puppy, as I already had a cat, and with the breeds high prey drive they need to be raised with a cat to ensure they dont see them as prey.
My cat passed away at 21, and the house is just too empty. So I got a ragdoll kitten, so that I can raise him with a puppy so that they have a better chance of living together happily. I got my first cat when I was only 5, so I dont really remember what it's like living with a kitten.
My house now has 2 little terrers running around and causing mischief! Its crazy but also really fun having my first real experience of a kitten or a puppy, and having both at the same time.
Thankfully, the kitten came from a breeder with several dogs, so hes super confident around the puppy. Both their breeds also have similar personality traits, so I'm hoping they will end up being best friends with time, although I know that's not a guarantee.
I'd love to hear others experience with raising both together!
