Disabled Needs Support Animal but what about Vet Costs?

—I have some brain issues that cause me to never really be able to leave my apartment unless absolutely have to like Dr Appt and groceries. Other than that I stay home alone. I’m only 40 and with a teenage son who’s been in college 2 years now it’s been a new level of aloneness that is just very very tough. I mean really rough.

—-I love dogs. In fact my son has one of the best dogs ever. A yellow lab that is the perfect dog. So loving and easy to take care of. That dog lives with my sons mother. I really would like to get a dog to have around. It would help me so much. I dog sit sometimes for my son or used to but looks like won’t get too really anymore since sons mother’s cousin got big house nearby to her and he goes there.

—-My time when I used to go house and dog sit with him with so great to have a dog to wake up to. Take on walks and just be around all day. The first huge issue is cost. I’m sure I could get enough money to adopt a dog and maybe have enough to pay for the food. But vet care no way.

—-I’m living alone on social security disability. It’s barely enough to live and eat each month. It’s actually pretty sad how much your expected to live off. Rent alone takes almost all of it. I would feel too guilty to get a dog that if something happened and he or she was hurt I couldn’t afford the help needed.

—-The other main issue is if I adopted some dog and it ended up being a big behavioral issue it wouldn’t be good for my issues at all. It would have the opposite effect.

—-My older sister always gets rescue dogs and she has had the absolute worst luck. Everyone is crazier than the next. A lab like my sons to have around could change my life. That’s not hyperbole.

—-It would make day to day life so much more tolerable. No one should have to live most their life alone.

Please if you have any advice to help the situation it would be great! Thanks
