I have 2 cats and I want a dog, badly

Hi,

I have always preferred cats over dogs my whole life due to the low responsibility and costs. Now that I'm 31 and finally financially stable, I want a dog! A mini aussie to be exact.

I struggle with depression and loneliness in NYC. I'm blessed to have a big backyard and parks near by so I have a good set up already. My brother and sisters have always had dogs and I know how to handle them etc.

The problem is that i am afraid my cats will HATE ME FOREVER bc of the dog..but I see so many people do it and never regret it,but how????? My apartment doesn't have many doors to be able to slowly introduce them (open concept) I mean I guess my bedroom or bathroom door?

Can someone offer some legit advice????
