Is it a good idea to go for walks with an indoor cat? (psychologically)

Hi we just recently got 2 young cats. (now 5 months old) Since we live on the highest floor it is unfortunately impossible to offer them outdoor access apart from our balconies. I was wondering however if it is a good idea to go on walks with them with cat leashes. They enjoy very much being on the balcony. However I could imagine that once they get access to the outside world they might suffer greatly after having to return into our apartment. I feel like psychologically if a cat only ever knows the apartment they grew up in then it might not be that bad for them to only stay inside.

However I know not much about cats so I am coming here for advice. Does anyone have experience with my problem? Help would be greatly appreciated.
