My girlfriend and I are planning on getting a pet together, and were not sure which is a better fit for us: a rabbit or two guinea pigs
We live in a small apartment. Neither of us have experience with guinea pigs, but I had a rabbit for almost 10 years (unfortunately she had a stroke and passed away). We know that guinea pigs do better in pairs, but are worried about smell and noise.
We would be keeping the rabbit/guinea pigs in our living room, and would have gates set up for playtime. We would keep them in their cage at night.
Similarly, if we were to travel home during school breaks (we are both grad students), we aren't sure which would travel better. My first rabbit never flew or spent more than an hour at a time in the car.
Any advice is appreciated!
