Should I feed cats that come through my property?

I moved to a new house 9 months ago and ever since then I’ve noticed several cats outside our property. Well it snowed for the first time recently and I can now see all the paw print trails in our yard and it’s just completely covered with prints. I never realized just how many cats come through our yard everyday. I’ve seen about 10 different kitties over the course of the 9 months but there are 2-3 that I see almost daily.

Would it be right for me to leave food out for them? I don’t know if they are just outside cats or are strays. I don’t want to feed someone else’s outside cat (unless they look neglected) because then they may stop going to their owners house.

I also live in a neighborhood where houses are pretty close together and there are busy roads nearby so it’s a little concerning how many outdoor cats there are here.
