There is a pitbull mix in my neighborhood and it begs for food. It is friendly and my dad is now keeping it in our backyard. The dog is not really well-behaved (but responds to a few commands like "sit"). my dad got annoyed and said that the dog will go to the pound tomorrow. Should I let my father take the dog to the pound, when it kinda seems like it might have a local owner? Maybe i should let it free and tell my dad that it ran away. What should I do? Help need answers asap.
btw the dog whines ALOT - very annoying, how do you get dogs to stop whining? We have a kennel inside but the dog was equally whiny in the kennel as he was outside. So he is now outside. I feel bad for the dog because it is currently very cold. But I know very little about dogs.
