I recently switched my betta into a brand new 10-gallon tank to upgrade him from his 5-gallon. He’s doing splendid in the new tank but now I’ve got this little 5-gallon tank sitting around. I could throw it out, or... get a new pet!
I want to avoid more fish because the top is missing and a lot of stores don’t sell tops separately that ALSO fit the filter/heater, which means I’m going to either look at fish that don’t require a filter (? If they exist) or just not a fish at all.
I’ve thought about hamsters or mice but I know they’re very social and require lots of handling, which I’m not sure I can do. I’m more so thinking of a pet I can still care for while enjoying watching/feeding/building an environment for it that is pretty low maintenance. So far I’ve come down to geckos, which I’m still doing some research on (like if they can even thrive in 5 gallons).
I’m very fascinated by different animals so I’m open to any ideas. Thanks.
