So yeah, my morning started with a kitten in the hood of my car. Despite my best efforts I can't catch the little guy.
Kitten is probably ~5-6 weeks old based off of size and grey eyes. Looks to be a bit skinny and has been crying for mama cat for the last 2 nights. I haven't seen any cats coming or going from the area and suspect the kitten was abandoned. I have had food out all day and the kitten isn't recognizing the smell at all. I've had success luring kitten out with momma cat sounds but nobody can get close enough to catch it. No success luring the kitten into a live trap with cat sounds.
The area kitten is hiding in is a small thickly overgrown area of trees in the shape of the letter U. Has hiding spots on both top corners of the U, with ~30ft open space between each. Kitten is very small and surprisingly fast.
We have some bad thunder storms coming the next few days so I would really like to catch the kitten tonight. At this point I'm strongly considering sitting outside with my friendly fat cat, playing cat sounds and hopefully not weird out the neighbors too much...
Any advice?
