I'm looking for some advice. Sorry if this isn't the right sub, if anyone can recommend the proper sub for this that would be great.
My cat who's 2 years old, neutered male has always been very playful, likes to explore he's always been a fussy eater and a fairly long cat so while he was never chubby he was a good weight. The past month he has gotten skinnier to the point I can feel the bones in his back quite easily, he does have a little belly ( I have wormed him.) I feel like he's underweight.
He's stopped going out and playing and now when he goes out he just sits around for a few minutes before following me back inside he's much more clingy now too and cries a lot more, he's always been vocal but will cry when he's settling down to sleep for a while which is new. He's meow is also not as loud as it was and he gets quite hoarse. Should also mention he does all his potty business outside not in a litter box so I can't judge that.
He's eating pretty much the same, he's never been a big eater and always been fussy so no change there.
He's just really dead in himself, we have cold weather here which I think he hates, we had a few sunny days last week, and he did seem to perk up a little but the last two days he's pretty dead in himself, and hoarse again.
Before I get bring him to the vet. I have. I brought him to our vet last week, told her he's been like this about two weeks and she took him in for a quick check-up and came back to say he's totally healthy, she couldn't take his temperature because he got quite frisky and wouldn't let her but said she saw no sign of upper repository infection and all his teeth are healthy. We have 4 other cats who are healthy but have all had minor issues with cat flu and low immune systems.
I just want to get advise? I'm pretty sure I'll bring him back to the vet tomorrow or Thursday at the latest if he's no better and ask for another check-up to be done or maybe blood tests?
