Please help, I am getting desperate!
My nearly 7 year old cat has just recently started protesting her litter box. She will still pee in it, but she continues to poop in one spot in the middle of the hallway.
Just this morning I noticed that she peed somewhere outside of the box too. This has been going on for almost two months, getting increasingly worse. First it would only be once a week, now it is nearly every single day.
Here are things I have done:
- She is not sick
- Cleaned her litter box every day
- changed the litter from clay to pine
- used enzyme destroyers on the spots she has soiled, she still goes back to the spot
- moved her litter box to the spot she is soiling, she went in it for one day. It’s also not practical to have a litter box in the middle of a hallway....
- no routines have changed recently
Please, anything helps! I am getting so frustrated coming home to poop on the floor!
