Hi friends! I just adopted a sweet 7 year old cat. Her nails are very long and definitely need a trim. I’ve tried everything I can think of to get them cut, first how I did with previous cats I’ve had by burrito-ing her in a towel. Someone holds / someone clips. Trying to trim them when she’s sleeping. Taking a gentle approach. Every time I’m about to clip she jerks away and scratches me. She’s so good about other things like taking pills / being held / having her feet played with etc. it’s just as soon as she knows I’m trying to clip she gets defensive. Even when I cut my own nails in the same room as her she scratches me. Any advice? Do vets ever trim nails?
