My cat has an ear infection and is on antibiotics to clear it. He's done this process before. He's very well behaved and allows us to give him his meds with very little hassle.
The problem is this medicationis greasy and the excess leaks out of his ears onto the surrounding fur and thus ends up all over him. He is clearly uncomfortable because he can't (or won't) clean himself properly. The worst thing is how darn sad he looks and acts. I know he's probably being a drama queen but I just wish I could make him a little more comfortable.
I would bathe him, but he takes the meds twice a day for two weeks, so he wouldn't even get dry before he'd have to get all greasy again.
Has anyone else dealt with this issue? Any tips or ways to cheer him up? He doesn't care for treats. And catnip makes him aggressive. So I'm lost. Help?
