So my cat's morning routine is to wake up the nearest human at 3:30 am and beg for food. We of course don't feed him until 6:00ish so he doesn't go hungry until his next meal. However today he didn't do that. At 4:30 I woke up to him shuffling around and hiding under my bed (he does that when there's loud noises so maybe a fox cried before I woke up). He wouldn't leave my room and fell asleep on my bed. He didn't have his breakfast until 9 am after I basically dragging him out of my room. It took some incuragement but I got him to eat something, although he was eating slower than usual. He's 14 so it might just be him getting on in age but its unlikely. He's breathing normally and doesn't have any physical signs of feeling ill. Has this sudden loss of appetite happen to anyone else's cat and if so, is it something to worry about?
