My dog is recovering from surgery and will be 'out of it' for the next week - maybe longer. How can I make him as comfortable as possible until he's fully recovered?

So my good boy (9 years old, pug-schnauzer) had a pretty invasive surgery today where he had 4 fatty growths removed in 4 different spots on his body (bum, arm, neck, stomach)

Thankfully I'm working from home so I'm around him 24/7 to watch his recovery and make sure his needs are met.

He's out of it. He's weak. He's on painkillers. He's spent the day on the couch not moving and just sleeping/cuddling up to me. He's eaten a bit but not much. Any time I've tried to move him (eg. to get him to go outside for a pee) he's made sounds I've never heard before that tell me he's in A LOT of pain.

How can I make things as comfortable as possible until he's feeling better and has his strength back?
