Sneaking reptiles into new apartment?

My bf, roommates and I just moved into our new apartment last week from another state. A lot of work went into this move and we are still just settling in.

Before the move, we asked the front office over the phone if they apartment complex accepted aquatic pets. We have 2 aquatic turtles (a Yellow-Bellied Slider and an African Sideneck) and a snake (Ball Python).

We were told by the front office that they typically don't accept them, but that as long as we don't tell them, they don't have to know. Should I be worried?

There's already some things in the apartment that my roommates think might require a visit from maintenance. But we're worried that maintenance might report us if they see what we have. Maintenance in our previous apartment didn't seem to care, but we're still a little paranoid.

We really like it here, and would hate to lose this apartment. But even worse, we would hate to lose our reptiles.
