Hi, my best friend Lambchop is a six year old pitbull mix. He is such a good dog, and typically very quiet, especially when home alone with me and my wife. But one thing makes him vocalize and make sounds he never makes otherwise, our landline answering machine. The sound is in between howling and a groaning, grumbly sustained tone. I've never heard him make this sound in any other context! It doesn't matter who is leaving a message, or if it is the robotic answering machine voice ("you have two unheard messages", that lady).
Does it hurt his ears? Does it confuse him? Is he scared? He doesn't act scared or cover his ears or anything... I know it's not anything serious but I can't find any reliable answers on Google and we want to know how it's affecting him.
