Our AC recently went out and it’s been getting hotter where I live. One of my cats seems to be getting overheated late afternoon/early evening before it starts cooling down inside again and he refuses anything I try to do to cool him down. I’ve tried putting ice in his water, freezing his wet food for an icy treat, he hates the fans, won’t stay close to ice bottles I’ve put around the house, I’ve put some dry rags I put freezer on him but he shakes it off and it doesn’t stay cool for very long anyway and I’ve dampened his coat every so often which he does put up with but I don’t know how well it’s helping him.
If push comes to shove, I can take him to a friends house but they have animals too and I don’t want to overly stress him out because he’s been susceptible to bladder inflammation when stressed. I’m sure the heat isn’t helping his stress either though.
Any advice is appreciated!
