Hi! So my household had 2 cats and a dog (chiweenie) till about two months, when we adopted a kitten. Our dog plays and he gets along just fine with the kitten; however, since we’ve added our new kitten to the family, our dog has become a little food aggressive. Whenever he has dog bones or treats in his mouth, he gets a very deep, aggressive growl if your hands get anywhere near him. Same for the cats, so we separate them when he acts like that. This has NEVER happened in the four years we’ve owned him. These growls are very deep and aggressive compared to his usual play growls, I’ve never heard him make the noise before. He has never behaved this way before around us or the cats, so I am assuming it must be a territorial behavior since we have a new kitten in the house. I don’t believe he would ever hurt the cats, but any advice on how to handle this behavior would be great!
