My elderly cat probably has diabetes

The title says it. I am pretty sure my 12 year old Siamese mix cat will be diagnosed with diabetes. I once had a cat with diabetes, so I know the signs and symptoms and that's why I suspect it in this kitty. I have a vet appointment next week.
Here's the situation. I was slow to get her to the vet because of my own situation. I have lung cancer and have been in treatment since the end of 2018. Things are going fairly well with my treatment, but I do have lots of doctors' visits and immunotherapy and various other treatments. In short, there are lots of things going on with my own health.
I know what it takes to manage diabetes in a cat. I know that it can be done fairly easily, but I know that there is time and cost involved. I'm having to use a walker for my own mobility, so it would be a bit awkward to manage an illness like that in Dolly, the cat.
So here's the question: I'm already thinking that if this is the diagnosis, I should just go ahead and euthanize her. She's not in pain (that I can tell), and she seems content, but she mainly just lies around on the bed all day except to eat and drink LOTS of water. (We had to move at the first of the year, so she had to settle into an apartment, a change from our previous 3 bedroom house). But I hate thinking about euthanizing her if she has a disease that can be managed fairly easily. On the other hand, my own health condition is tough to manage, and I know there's a significant cost to treating a diabetic cat.

I'm just reaching out for opinions or just "what would you do"? I have a vet appointment on Monday. If that is the diagnosis, I could arrange for treatment for a while to see how she does, or I could make a decision within the next few weeks, or I could plan ahead now. I appreciate your thoughts and opinions - be nice, please! Dolly is a sweet cat, but I don't want her to have to go through the treatment if there's no real chance of it changing anything vs. having significant cost and time and energy on my end.
