Request: someone who has worked for a pet insurance company or cat owners who have used insurance for urinary problems

Hello, my 3 year old cat was straining to urinate last week and after spending about 4k at the ER for a mucus plug to be removed from his urethra, I decided to get pet insurance. The policy kicks in a few days from now.

I am wondering if in the event that he has this problem again, it will likely be considered a chronic or pre-existing condition? He does not have any problems with his bladder or kidneys, this was an isolated incident. But they did say that occasionally, a cat will form more mucus after the procedure. The language in his policy did not list this as a pre-existing condition but I am not sure if it would then be considered chronic, which is excluded. He has no known underlying health issues.

Anyone have experience with a similar situation? Thanks in advance
