Why do my kittens try to nurse from my male orange tabby?

We rescued these kittens back in April. We’ve been caring for a cat outside and she looked pregnant but we weren’t sure. Well, sure enough, we found them poking their heads out of our old shed one day. We took them in around 3-4 weeks?

We have 2 adult female cats and one male cat, which is the orange tabby. He is very long haired. The kittens always go to him and try to kiss his face or dig into his stomach to nurse from and they ALWAYS cuddle next to him. They don’t do any of this to the female cats.

Anyone know why they have this behavior towards my male kitty? Also, we still are feeding he mama outside and trying to trap her to get her fixed. She’s very timid but sweet, she loves sleeping on our porch or in our plants.
