My cat went missing just over two months ago. He was 11 months old, and I was devastated. I reported him missing to the microchip company, called local vets, put up posters everywhere, and ads online. Eventually I lost hope that he was ever coming back, or that he was even still alive. It's cringey asf but I literally prayed to God to bring him back and cried while watching old videos of him but I LOVED THAT CAT WITH EVERYTHNG INSIDE OF ME.
Yesterday, my mum texted me at work that he'd been found 25 miles away. I instantly started crying, and went down to visit for the weekend. As soon as he saw me, Pluto ran up to me and started rubbing his head on me and wrapping his tail around me and purring HE REMEMBERED ME! He's not very affectionate either. And he's grown so much! He's not malnourished or injured which is good, but he keeps sneezing and he's covered in fleas. The vet where he was found gave us flea treatments which we've applied to him. They said he probably jumped on a lorry and ended up in another city. I'M SO HAPPY HE'S BACK.
But I've noticed he's acting different. He used to go upstairs and sleep but now he won't sleep even though he's obviously tired and his eyes are closing. He constantly asks to go outside, and only comes in when he's hungry. He used to come up to my room and chill on my bed and my windowsill but when I bring him upstairs he just runs back down. I'm not sure what to do. Any advice?
