HELP! Cat peeing outside litter box.
I need some advice. I have a female cat named Maggie she is 4 years old and she is spayed.
When we got her she would go pee and poop in the litter box. No more then probably a year later she is peeing all over the house. We got her spayed hoping it would stop. We figured out she has a really small heart murmur as well. We moved shortly after and it stopped. So we thought it worked.
We then recently got a new male cat named Gibson last September. Got him neutered soon after. They do and don’t get along. He plays rough and she has enough and runs away hissing. Then again they will sleep and cuddle each-other a hour later. We hope as he calms down from kitten stage they will get along better. He is also a pretty big cat compared to 4 year old Maggie and we don’t think he’s done growing.
She recently started peeing on a sectional rug in the living room and in the hallway upstairs along the wall and corners. We have tried a lot of things to maybe fix this. We keep the litter box clean we used a special cat attracting litter. We have tried non-scented litter. Changed litter boxes all together. I play with her daily. I recently got CBD cat treats because we also think stress might be a cause she is a stressful cat. The thing is she is a picky cat and does not like these treats... neither of the cats do in fact.
I would like suggestions on what to do besides the vet ( very costly ) unless you guys think it is a medical problem then we will. I would not like to get rid of this cat because we have a special bond. We thinking maybe another litter box. I know they make plug in mist for pets to calm them as well.
