How do I get pit bull’s needle-like short hair out of carpet?

I took over my sister’s apartment lease and have moved in. She owned a pit bull/lab mix, and it’s hair is really short and stiff, almost like little one inch needles.

These hairs are imbedded into the carpet. I’m not talking about “on the carpet”; I mean IN the carpet. Like, they’re buried INTO the carpet. They’ve woven themselves INTO the threads of the carpet.

My sister did a piss poor job of cleaning, obviously, because one would think that a quick vacuuming would get the job done since the hair hasn’t had time to weave it’s way deep into the carpet. However, since this issue was neglected for god knows how long, the hair is no longer vacuum-able. I spent two hours the other night lint rolling the carpet. TWO HOURS. That only got the hair poking above the carpet’s surface, and didn’t even get it all.

Please Reddit. Help me. How the hell do I get these short little needles out of my carpet? I’ve tried the shampooing/wet vacuum. I’ve tried the regular vacuum. I’ve lint rolled. I know those rubber rake things won’t work, as I’ve tried. Those are good for most dog hair types, like a sheltie’s long hair that simply falls onto the carpet, but stuff hair that’s woven it’s way INTO the carpet is not gonna come up with a rubber rake.

What do I do?
