I’m really at my wits end here.
I’ve had a cat named Dusty for the past six years since he was a kitten. He’s got an attitude, like most cats, but has overall been a good boy. For as long as I’ve had him he’s been well behaved.
The problem is that recently he has been refusing to use his cat box. He’s peed on the carpet, in the bathtub, and on my bed several times now. At first I thought it was due to stress of being in a new area, or that the cat door wasn’t open for him to get to and from his box. The closer I look though, the more I struggle.
I’ve been consistent in keeping the cat door open and he knows how to use it. I’ve even seen him use it so I know that’s not the problem. We did recently move but he’s in a house with people and pets that he’s lived with in the past. Plus we’ve been here for a good couple months and this is a relatively new problem. I’ve cleaned the box consistently, changed the litter, left a little still in the box so it felt like his. Nothing has worked. Nothing.
At this point I don’t know what the problem could be or what to do about it. I love Dusty, he’s my little boy, but I can’t keep dealing with this.
