Dogs are smaller than the cat - How do we keep them out of the cat's room?

Our cat is very territorial and needs her own space. She's been well established in the house, and one of the rooms is 'her' room. We recently adopted two Jack-Chi mixes, and while she tolerates them, we'd like to keep them out of her room. The issue is they're smaller than her, so a kitty door won't work. Also, the cat is 9 and getting older, so she's not very spry at jumping over gates. Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep the pups out?
