Moving out of a house with fleas

In my parents house we have two dogs and one cat. I’m moving out of my parents house in one month and taking the cat with me. We have struggled with cycles of fleas over the past few years. This is because when we do have fleas my parents treat the problem half ass and are too lazy to make an effort to officially eliminate the problem. They’ll be “gone” for a few months to a year, but then come back. Currently, I’ve seen a flea in the past week and my pets have been itching, but my parents are denying it’s a problem. Since my parents probably won’t ever successfully eliminate the fleas completely, what is the best way to make sure my cat is flea/egg free when I move into my own place? I can not afford to take this problem with me and I need to make sure my cat is clean before I move.
