So I just used that hartz topical flea and tick treatment. I didn't know about it contributing to deaths of cats and dogs. :( luckily I noticed the strong smell it emitted and her strange behavior within minutes of application. My heart fell to my stomach and we rushed to rinse her off as we noticed she was struggling to blink. :c I'm upset with myself for picking up the product. Apparently it contains the same chemical as a roach insecticide. We bathed her twice already. After her first bath I went online to see if there were similar stories ad I was shocked by stories of chemical burns and deaths. 😩 I got so scared looking at how lethargic she had become. I read about Dawn dish soap to be the best to wash that shit off, his made me panic since we had used regular cat shampoo. To my horror I went to go see what we used and it was also a hartz brand. I called my fiance back inside and told him we needed to wash her again but this time with Dawn. She seems ok now, just wet and spooked. Please don't use this on your cats. I had no idea. I was just at Harris teeter and saw what was convenient and right there. My heart hurts. I'm taking her to the vet after work tomorrow for now im just watching her behavior and drinking. 😥😪 I'm sick to my stomach.
