My partner and I are house sitting for someone until the end of August and we’ve been looking after their cat. We were excited to have a cat in the house as we are both cat lovers, but even after a week of being around us she recoils from being petted. It’s strange because she routinely sleeps down the end of our bed, so it can’t be that she hates being near us. She also doesn’t really like to play. All our attempts to encourage her seem to be an annoyance more than anything else. Does anyone have any advice as to how to get her to like us? It would be a shame to leave and still not have a good relationship with the cat.
