Hello! I got a new cat and she is adjusting well but I have noticed that she loves digging her claws into any and all fabric and when I let her out of the crate (I am using it to help her adjust to my other cat) that she not only scratches the sides of the couch but the seats too! Normally if a cat is scratching something constantly I will put clear tape on that spot but I do not want to have to cover the seats on my couch wih tape/aluminum foil/a plastic cover!
I am going to run out and get some treats and cardboard scratching posts and encourage her to use those for scratching but is there any other advice? I have never had a cat try to scratch the seats of my couch or chairs before and absolutely want that behavior to stop. Thanks for any help and advice!
