My long-hair kitty sheds like crazy and her fur is literally all over the house, on my bed, clothes, carpet, etc.. She also grooms herself constantly and has a tough time with hair balls. I’ve been adding salmon and olive oil to her food to help with digestion, but it only helps to a certain extent.
And not only does she constantly shed, but everything from cat litter to scratching post remnants get caught in her fur and transferred to my sheets.
The Furminator is alright, but she doesn’t seem to like it, and I can’t use it on smaller areas like her legs and belly anyway. I’ve been using a fine tooth comb recently and she doesn’t mind that as much, but I still can’t get around limbs and other awkward areas without a lot of effort and patience, of which my cat does not have.
I was thinking of trying out grooming gloves? They’d seem to work well for accessing all the areas a brush and comb can’t, and I think they’d cause her less discomfort.
What are your experiences with grooming gloves, and is there a brand you’d recommend over others? I’d also love to hear other tips and tricks for shedding if you have them.
Thank you in advance!
