My cat was on methimazole. She was having an allergic reaction to what my vet thinks is methimazole. She was scratching sores on her face, so we are taking her off them for 2 weeks, to see if the scratching goes away. It's been about a week, and she has to wear a cone the entire time, so she doesnt scratch her face, which was working, but then I noticed she was licking at her hind heels. There are red balled spots, so I went, and got a bigger cone, which is level with her nose. Also, some disinfectant whips. I got a bandage to put around her foot, but she can still bite it off despite the big cone. If the cone were big enough, then would there be no way, she could bite her hind feet, or are some cats able to do that? I would just get a REALLY big cone, but then she still needs to eat, and drink. Am I pretty much doing everything I can?
